Antique Turn of the Last Century circa 1900 Top Quality 'Sorrento Ware' Italian Hand Carved Olivewood Blotter Come Folder marquetry inlaid to the centre front with specimen wood types featuring the image of two dancers, the mainstay to the folder front is beautifully cut, carved and pierced featuring scrolled and conjoined floral work finished with corner set figures of stylised Gryphons, the outer edge to the folder is inlaid with a detailed micro mosaic closing gallery of specimen wood (after Khatam inlay), the reverse to the folder is hand singed with the legend "Sorrento" (A Grand Tour Souvenir collectible as with Ricardo ware), the interior to the folder is fitted in red matted fabric and features the legend "Notes - Diverses" below which are several pockets and a sleeve so as to serve for storing paper and other writing paraphernalia, the inside lid to the folder features a liftable dust cover to allow one access to the blotter feature which serves for when writing with a dip pen (or similar).
